Privacy policy
Effective April 20, 2026
This is Benjamin Maries' personal site. Photographs, writing, prints, and the code underneath are mine. When you contact me or subscribe to my newsletter, you are dealing with me directly, not a company.
Contact inquiries. When you send a message through the contact form, I receive your name, email, and everything you wrote. I use it to reply to you.
Newsletter subscriptions. If you subscribe, your email lives in Buttondown — the service that delivers the newsletter. You can unsubscribe any time with one click at the bottom of any email.
Anonymous analytics. I use Plausible, which counts pageviews without cookies or personal identifiers. It tells me which pages people read and where they came from. It cannot identify you.
Print orders. When you buy a print, the transaction is handled by Shopify. They collect your shipping address, email, and payment details to deliver the print and process the sale. Shopify's privacy practices govern that data.
The site runs on Vercel. Content is stored in Sanity. Newsletter is Buttondown. Contact form email is Resend. Analytics is Plausible. Print sales are Shopify. Each of these services has its own privacy policy; I pick them because they are privacy-respecting by default.
I do not sell your data. I do not run advertising. I do not use your messages to train machine-learning models. I do not share your email with anyone, including other artists, galleries, or publications.
You can ask me what data I hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Send a request through the contact form and I will respond within a reasonable window.
When this policy changes, the effective date at the top of the page changes with it. Significant changes will be mentioned in the newsletter.
