Every photograph, essay, scan, and written word on this site is authored by Benjamin Maries and protected by copyright. Browsing the site does not grant you a license to use the work.

Link to any page. Share links on social platforms. Quote up to two sentences from an essay with attribution. Post a single image thumbnail in the context of discussion or review, provided the image links back to the source page here.

Reproduce photographs or essays in whole or in part outside the uses above. Use any image in print, advertising, social campaigns, editorial layouts, or commercial products without a written license. Train, fine-tune, or evaluate machine-learning models on the content of this site. Scrape the site. Use automated tools to download content in bulk.

If you want to license a photograph for publication, use the contact form and select Editorial / Licensing as the reason. Include the publication, intended use, territory, duration, and date needed. Licensing is available and reasonably priced.

Each edition is limited and numbered. The edition size is stated on the product page at the time of purchase and does not change after sale. Prints are signed by the artist and shipped with a certificate of authenticity and a thermal receipt from the studio.

Purchase gives you ownership of the physical object. It does not transfer copyright or reproduction rights. The image remains under my authorship.

Shipping takes 5–10 business days within the United States and 7–21 days internationally. Lost or damaged shipments will be replaced or refunded. Because prints are made to order, change-of-mind returns are not accepted; defective or damaged prints will be remade.

Editorial inquiries, licensing, and gallery conversations are welcome. Spam, AI-generated outreach, and cold sales pitches are not. Messages of the latter kind are ignored without reply.

The site is provided as-is. Links may break. Essays and prints may rotate out of the active catalogue. I do my best to keep everything working and to reply to genuine messages within two business days.

These terms may change as the practice evolves. The effective date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Any dispute arising from them will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Los Angeles County, California.
